互映之域｜2026首届中国当代艺术季 • 杭州站 策展文论

伽达默尔在《真理与方法》中阐释：所有理解的发生，都是不同视域相互触碰、彼此融合的动态过程。每一位艺术家的创作，皆根植于个体生命经验、地域文脉积淀与当下时代语境，由此生成专属的认知方式、观看视角与精神场域。本次展览以“互映之域”为核心命题，正源于这一阐释学思辨，意在打破单一视角的认知桎梏，让诸多独立自洽的艺术视域互为镜鉴，在平等开放的空间语境中，构建当代艺术多元共生的对话体系。

展览所定义的“域”，承载双重真实维度：其一为精神之域，是每位艺术家独有的创作立场、认知结构与艺术观念；其二为物理之域，即辰美术馆所处的城市公共空间。场馆坐落于城市流动枢纽之上，天然具备交汇、聚合、相遇的都市特质。来自不同地域、不同创作体系、不同代际的艺术作品在此汇聚共存，彼此保持独立的精神特质，互不同化、互不消解。所谓“互映”，并非以统一审美抹平差异，也非用固定范式规训创作，而是不同艺术立场的相互投射、双向观照、彼此释义。观者与作品的对视、触碰与思辨，让艺术的意义在现场即时生成，完成真正鲜活的审美解读。

中国传统文脉向来坚守“和而不同”的东方智慧，和实生物，同则不继。当代艺术的生命力，恰恰根植于差异共存、多元并置的创作生态。本次展览集结十八位不同代际、不同创作脉络的当代艺术家，涵盖架上绘画、综合材料、雕塑、装置、影像等多元艺术媒介。多维度的艺术实践在此共生共振，作品与作品呼应、创作者与观者对话、个体表达与时代语境互文。每位创作者坚定且独特的艺术姿态，不会因相遇而消解，反而在持续的互视、互照、互补之中，不断拓宽彼此的认知边界，深化关于观看、对视与视域交融的艺术思辨。展览避开宏大叙事的直白陈述，回归艺术最本真的观看行为本身，聚焦不同视域相遇、碰撞、映照的完整过程。

作为“共识共生——2026首届中国当代艺术季”的杭州独立篇章，本次展览深度承接艺术季核心学术主旨。杭州兼具江南文脉的温润底蕴与现代都市的开放包容，兼容传统积淀与先锋艺术实践，为“互映”的展览理念提供了得天独厚的城市土壤。而美术馆流动交汇的空间属性，更让抽象的视域融合，落地为可感知、可参与、可思辨的公共艺术现场。往来流动的城市观者、深耕创作的艺术从业者、多元独立的观看视角在此相遇，让小众的艺术实验走入公共视野，让个体的艺术思考融入城市文化肌理。

以对话替代独断，以映照容纳差异，以多元构筑场域。本次展览不预设唯一审美标准，不固化单一创作范式，通过多代际、多媒介、多视角的艺术并置，于差异中凝聚共识，于对望中达成呼应，构筑兼容并蓄、和而不同的当代艺术生态，精准呼应本届艺术季“以差异凝聚共识，以联动促成共生”的核心内核。

在互映之域中，见自我、见他者、见时代。艺术真正的共生，从不来自趋同的复制，而源于差异之间无止境的相互照亮。

In Truth and Method, Hans-Georg Gadamer states that all understanding emerges from a dynamic process where diverse horizons meet and fuse. Rooted in personal experience, regional cultural heritage and contemporary context, each artist’s practice forms unique modes of cognition, observation and spiritual terrain. Taking “The Realm of Mutual Reflection” as its core proposition, this exhibition grows from such hermeneutic thinking. It aims to break the constraints of single-perspective viewing, letting many self-contained artistic horizons mirror one another and build a dialogic system for plural contemporary art within an equal, open space.

The “realm” of the exhibition holds two dimensions: the spiritual realm of each artist’s creative stance, cognition and artistic concepts; and the physical realm, the urban public space of Chen Art Museum. Situated at a busy urban transit hub, the venue naturally enables convergence and encounter. Works from varied regions, creative systems and generations coexist here, retaining their independent identities without assimilation or erasure. “Mutual reflection” does not mean flattening differences under one aesthetic or constraining creation with rigid formulas. Instead, it describes mutual projection, reciprocal observation and interpretation between distinct artistic positions. The gaze, encounter and reflection between viewers and works generate artistic meaning on site, enabling vivid aesthetic readings.

Traditional Chinese thought embraces the Eastern wisdom of “harmony without uniformity”: harmony fosters life, while uniformity halts continuity. Contemporary art thrives in an ecosystem where differences coexist and pluralities cohabit. This exhibition gathers eighteen cross-generation artists working across easel painting, mixed media, sculpture, installation and video. Multifaceted practices resonate together: works respond to each other, artists converse with viewers, and individual expressions dialogue with the times. Each creator’s distinct vision persists rather than fading through encounter. Through ongoing mutual observation and complementarity, they expand shared boundaries and deepen reflection on seeing, gazing and the fusion of horizons. Avoiding heavy grand narratives, the exhibition returns to the primal act of viewing, focusing on the full process of encounter, collision and reflection among different horizons.

As the Hangzhou segment of “Consensus and Symbiosis — 2026 First China Contemporary Art Season”, it carries forward the art season’s core academic vision. Blending the gentle heritage of Jiangnan culture and the openness of a modern metropolis, Hangzhou offers fertile ground for the concept of mutual reflection. The museum’s converging spatial quality turns the abstract idea of horizon fusion into a tangible, participatory public art site. Travelling audiences, art practitioners and diverse viewpoints converge here, bringing experimental art into public view and weaving individual artistic thinking into the city’s cultural fabric.

We replace dogma with dialogue, embrace divergence through reflection, and build the field through plurality. Without imposing a single aesthetic standard or fixed creative model, this exhibition juxtaposes cross-generational, cross-medium works to build consensus amid differences and resonance through mutual gazing. It forms an inclusive art ecology of harmony without uniformity, echoing the season’s core tenet: “forge consensus through divergence, foster symbiosis via linkage”.

In the realm of mutual reflection, we encounter the self, the other and the era. True artistic symbiosis never comes from identical replication, but from endless mutual illumination across differences.
