9月21日，房新文总领事出席维多利亚州华人社区共同庆祝中华人民共和国成立77周年暨澳中建交54周年活动。活动筹委会执行主席伍颂达，维州州长代表、州议员狄明贤，我馆刘东源副总领事及维州政商侨各界代表等400余人出席活动。

房总领事在致辞中回顾新中国成立77年来取得的举世瞩目发展成就，介绍中澳关系及领区对华交流合作最新进展，表示中澳关系的本质是互利共赢，中方愿同澳方一道，进一步加强各领域交流合作，推动中澳全面战略伙伴关系沿着正确轨道稳定向前发展。房总领事充分肯定维州华人社区为促进中澳民间友好和两国各领域交流合作所作积极贡献，希望广大侨胞继续发挥桥梁纽带作用，积极融入当地社会，促进中澳人民相互了解和友好交流。

活动筹委会代表及与会嘉宾热烈祝贺中华人民共和国成立77周年和澳中建交54周年，高度评价中国发展成就，表示将继续支持澳中友好交流与合作。

活动还举行了歌曲、舞蹈、器乐等精彩文艺表演，现场洋溢着热烈、欢乐、祥和的气氛。

Consul General Fang Xinwen Attends Victorian Chinese Community Celebrating the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 54th Anniversary of China-Australia Diplomatic Relations

On September 21, Consul General Fang Xinwen attended an event hosted by the Chinese community in Victoria to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 54th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Australia. More than 400 guests attended the event, including Mr Arthur Wu, Executive Chairman of the Organising Committee, Mr Meng Heang Tak MP, the representative of the Premier of Victoria, Ms Liu Dongyuan, Deputy Consul General, and representatives from the political, business and Chinese communities in Victoria.

In his remarks, Consul General Fang reviewed the remarkable achievements China has made since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 77 years ago and briefed the audience on China-Australia relations and the latest developments in exchanges and cooperation between Victoria and China. He noted that the essence of China-Australia relations is mutually beneficial cooperation. China stands ready to work with Australia to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation across various fields and advance the China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership along the right track toward steady progress. Consul General Fang spoke highly of the positive contributions made by the Chinese community in Victoria to promoting people-to-people friendship and exchanges and cooperation between China and Australia, and encouraged Chinese Australians to continue to serve as a bridge, actively integrate into Australian society, and promote mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Australia.

Representatives of the Organising Committee and guests extended their warm congratulations on the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 54th anniversary of China-Australia diplomatic relations. They spoke highly of China’s development achievements and expressed their commitment to continuing to support friendship and cooperation between Australia and China.

The event also featured a variety of cultural performances, including singing, dancing and instrumental music. The celebration was held in a warm, joyful and festive atmosphere.
